In memory of Michael I thought I would link to my favorite song of his! I like to say that I've actually been to a Michael Jackson concert...in 1985 when I was inside my mom's belly. I think that's probably why I'm such a huge fan of his music :) You will be missed Michael, you will be missed.

james in the studio
Just thought I would update everyone on what's going on in the life of a Childs. I am very proud to say that for the past week James has been in Missouri with the college worship team recording our church's Christmas CD, "On the Incarnation." This is such an awesome opportunity where they are working with a real producer, Jeremy Larson and getting to get to experience the whole production process. He says things are going amazing and that the album sounds awesome! I'm so proud of him and the amazing talent God has giving him! He's gotten to play some electric, acoustic, mandolin, bass and piano....wow he's amazing! Check out his blog "all things audible" to see videos and hear more.

Mattie's Graduation

We had a wonderful time in Florida this past weekend! We went down for my sister Mattie's graduation which held the surprise that my mom was asked to sit on stage and give Mattie her diploma. Only a couple of mom's were asked so it was a real honor! After the graduation we had a great time taking pictures even though it was a little rainy. James and I drove down with Brentice and his sweet girlfriend Taylor. Grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins all joined in the fun as we had a great graduation party for Mattie and her friend on Friday night. We had such a great time!

duke univ. day trip
So I've never been to Duke's campus which is completely crazy considering it's only 30 min. away from Raleigh. So a while ago James and I decided to go and just walk around the campus and pretend we were really smart doctors! We had so much fun and I just couldn't stop taking pictures of the beautiful architecture. We actually ended up pretending we were really smart doctors...in another country, because it totally felt like we were in Europe or Scotland. James also made a little friend:)

So sad....memories lost
So when James and I were sophomores in college we started dating, and for his birthday I made him this scrapbook of all the notes and memories we had leading up to our relationship. I went to an old used bookstore and bought an old dictionary. I glued pages together and created the scrapbook. It was really cool and had actual notes, ticket stubs, song lyrics..etc...and WE CANT FIND IT! I'm so sad and am praying so hard that it's in a box somewhere safe and sound. :( So I was going through pictures and saw this and thought of it...please show up dear scrapbook!
Beach House
My amazing friends Teresa and Paula went to Teresa's beach house for a few days where we relaxed and had a wonderful time! I love these girls so much so thought I would post about them. Sadly we didn't bring a camera so here is an oldy from sophomore year in college. Crazy how time flies by. Love em to death!

looking way back....
Since we were "looking back" to our engagement, I thought we would look way way back to when James and I were in our "friend" stage of things. This was one of the first times just the two of us hung out our freshman year of college. There is a park next to campus that we walked to between classes and ended up taking a bunch of funny pictures. Though he knew but I didn't at the time....we were totally meant for each other...and I more than agree!
